IPL Skin Rejuvenation

Treatments You Can Trust

Photo rejuvenation is a revolutionary new procedure that creates younger and healthier looking skin. As we age, we start to see signs of sun damage appearing in our complexion. This may include wrinkles, freckles, rosacea, broken capillaries, dark spots, blotchy skin colour, redness of the face and neck, enlarged pore size and sun damage. Photo rejuvenation is the only treatment that treats all of this and the collagen structure at the same time. IPL uses intense pulsed light to heat the under layers of the skin, stimulating the production of collagen. More collagen means firmer, smoother skin with an obvious reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

Does it hurt?

Not really. It might be a little uncomfortable on certain areas of your face. But mostly, it’s a gentle warmth that doesn’t hurt.

How many treatments are needed?

Depending on your skin condition, you should notice a difference after one session. But for best results, we recommend 2-6 treatments 4-12 weeks apart. Clinical studies show that several treatments are needed to stimulate new collagen growth. We also recommend regular touch up treatments to sustain the continued growth of new collagen.

How will my skin look immediately after a treatment?

You may feel as though you have a mild case of sunburn after your treatment and your skin may be slightly pink for 2 or 3 hours. This will disappear as will the mild swelling which you may experience after your treatment. Brown age spots and uneven pigmentation will turn slightly darker after treatment but clear up after a week or so.

Are there any side effects?

Photo rejuvenation is a very safe procedure. There is virtually no healing time needed which is what makes it so great. Make up can be applied straight after the treatment if you want. It’s so quick and easy that clients can drop in on their lunch break and return to work straight after.

There are some very mild side effects that can occur but these are generally associated with darker skin types and too much sun exposure too soon after a treatment.

What should I do before a treatment?

The face should be clean and free of all make up. Avoid tanning before and after as this will enhance blotchiness. We highly recommend complimentary skin products to help maintain the results achieved. You can start using these before you begin your treatments.
